Heart of the Forest/  2016-2020                     Painting on wood panel with carved line

“Having lived for decades at the edge of a forest, the boundaries between the studio and the outdoors have dissolved. My intellectual and aesthetic bedrock which was once narrowly focused on art history has shifted, earth stories have become the compelling force for my creativity and designs. My process always begins with walking, walking as a kind of handshake with the land, listening for the told and untold stories in each site.”                                                                                                                                                  Ana Flores
